Grow up world in(to) happy child!
By commemorating International volunteer’s day December 5th, volunteers of Foundation Older brother, older sister have started this year’s campaign under the slogan Grow up world in(to) a happy child! The campaign's goal is to secure financial assets to make associations of children and volunteers for this project’s cycle possible.
In the 17 years of implementation of the program Older brother, older sisterin Bosnia and Herzegovina, over 1860 pairs of children and volunteers have been part of it – many friendships have been established between children and volunteers through this program which last to this day and that is one of its greatest accomplishments. Hence, the Foundation for support and development of mentorship program Older brother, older sister tries to make it possible for a greater number of pairs of volunteers and children to meet up and spend quality time together in the future. This is our seventh campaign in a row, and we were supported by more than 20 companies and 300 individuals up until now, and because of them, 80 more pairs of children and volunteers were connected.
Through this campaign, volunteers of the Foundation have made promotional t-shirts, totes, rucksacks, badges, keychains, and stickers which, in a creative manner, depict associations of children and volunteers, and you can order these through social media of Foundation Older brother, older sister.
At the moment, more than 180 children, and the same number of volunteers, are enrolled in the program Older brother, older sister in 11 cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The friendly relationship between volunteers and children contributes to mitigating the consequences of negative influences to which children are exposed, and to gaining support that is often missing in the family and surroundings. By these associations, kids gain a new perspective on life outside of their everyday surroundings – they spend their time walking, driving a bicycle, ice-skating, bowling, going to the theater, cinema, museum, zoo, using public transport, or going for a cake, which a great number of kids experience for the first time.
Therefore, we are using this chance to invite all companies, organizations, institutions, and also all interested individuals to support associations of volunteers and kids by donating to the Foundation Older brother, older sister.
