About Foundation's founding

Foundation for support and development of mentorship program Older brother, older sister was founded in 2013.with headquarters in Sarajevo and which officially started with work in 2019. when the first tender was made public for co-financing of organizations in the process of implementing the program Older brother, older sister. Association for addiction prevention NARKO-NE, by the means of the Older brother, older sister Network in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was the initiator of its founding, and all the organizations – members of the Network at that point have given support for its founding.

Organizations who were the members of Older brother, older sister Network are following: Udruženja Zdravo da ste and Nova Generacija from Banja Luka, Udruženje Zemlja djece u BiH and IPAK-MGB from Tuzla, Omladinsko udruženje REaktiv and Medica from Zenica, Centar za edukaciju mladih Travnik, centar za psihološku podrkšku Sensus and SOS Porodični centar from Mostar, and from Sarajevo HKO Kruh sv. Ante in cooperation with SOS dječija sela Sarajevo and Association for addiction prevention NARKO-NE.

Foundation is taking over any heritage which Older brother, older sister Network has built thereupon throughout its existence. By that, we primarily refer to all processes and knowledge in connection with the mentorship with an extra emphasis on the program Older brother, older sister. Foundation is also using parts of financial and administrative norms regarding the granting which was developed by the Network in recent years.

Foundation has dedicated one of its segments of operation to improve the existing and development of the new mentorship programs. In the future, the Foundation has the intention of using other mentorship programs to encourage children and young beside the Older brother, older sister program, which was in its early efficacy skeleton of the Foundation’s operation.

Also, Foundation is actively engaged in the promotion of philanthropy and spreading of the beneficence mission with the aim of mobilizing domestic forces from the public and private sector which will aid the Foundation’s operation, and in a such manner contribute accomplishing the Foundation’s mission.

VISION:

For the kids and young in Bosnia and Herzegovina to have equal opportunities to develop life skills necessary for healthy growing-up and taking responsibility of building righteous society.

MISSION:

By strengthening partner organizations, volunteers, and cooperation with institutions we are making the actualization of mentorship programs possible, giving positive models of behavior for children and young all across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The general aim of Foundation:

By volunteering, advocating, supporting, and philanthropical work, we cultivate universal human values and contribute to the healthy growing-up of children and young, so as for them to develop into responsible and model members of society.

Vizija:

Djeca i mladi u BiH imaju jednake mogućnosti za razvoj životnih vještina potrebnih za zdravo odrastanje i preuzimanje odgovornosti za izgradnju pravednog društva.

Misija:

Kroz osnaživanje partnerskih organizacija, volontera i saradnju sa institucijama omogućavamo realiziranje mentorskih programa pružajući pozitivne modele ponašanja djeci i mladima širom BiH.

Generalni cilj Fondacije:

Volonterizmom, zagovaranjem, podrškom i filantropskim djelovanjem njegujemo univerzalne ljudske vrijednosti i doprinosimo zdravom odrastanju djece i mladih kako bi postali uzorni i odgovorni članovi društva.
