Online mentoring

The vulnerable groups most affected by the coronavirus pandemic were children and the elderly. Due to the current epidemic situation and with the aim of ensuring conditions for the healthy development of children, the staff of the "Older Brother, Older Sister" Foundation have developed guidelines for online mentorship.

Although the "Older Brother, Older Sister" program officially ceased all its activities by March 5, 2020, in all 8 communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina where it operates, some pairs of children and volunteers have spontaneously maintained contact and continued their relationships and friendships. Some volunteers are again helping their younger sisters and brothers with homework, while others simply socialize online or play educational games.

Thus, even in times of crisis, mentorship has spontaneously demonstrated its natural potential – once again confirming that there is nothing stronger than genuine and authentic human contact, friendship, love, and care for others. This is exactly why we have been striving to ensure that all children currently included in the "Older Brother, Older Sister" program can experience the benefits of mentorship, even in these difficult times.
