We’ve run, donated and enjoyed ourselves
Sunday 22nd of March 2022 was reserved for the first event in line we have organized in the framework of our eighth campaign under the name “Let’s run for a child’s smile”. Namely the race “Najbržih 5K u regiji” ROOF GARDEN by XYLION which we have held in cooperation with NGO Marathon Sarajevo and Filantropski forum B&H. It was a road race 5 kilometers long, and it was held in the gorgeous ambient of the nearby mountain Trebevic.
Guide by the campaign’s motto “One kilometer = one pocket-money”, which represents 30 BAM monthly and serves as the money spent together by a kid and volunteer during their socialization, 16 runners who had been running for a child’s smile were selling their covered kilometers, so every “bought kilometer” was donated to the Fond Older brother, older sister. In such a manner, everyone interested had a chance to be a creator of a happy childhood for the kids of the Older brother, older sister program. Regarding the fact that some of the runners for a child’s smile still haven’t “sold” their kilometers, all interested individuals can yet donate to the Fond Older brother, older sister via the platform Doniraj.baor via the drawing account of the Foundation: 1322602023286553
To the question of why has he decided to run for a child’s smile, the friend of the Foundation and one of the more successful runners of the race Eldin Omeragic replied proudly: “When lots of little people, of the little places, would make little positive steps, we would change the face of the Earth!”
One of the participants, as well as an older sister in the program, Amina Mujagic Vejzovic has pointed out the importance of taking a part in such a story and thinks that investing free time in volunteering for the program is one of the best things she could have done for herself and word as well.
The whole team of the Foundation Older brother, older sister want to use this opportunity to express their gratitude to all the runners who ran the race for a child’s smile thus showing their empathy and willingness for creating only joyful moments for the kids in need and successfully accumulated 2 663 BAM. Happy that that day was filled with smiles, highly positive energy, new acquaintances, and true glee, the volunteers of the Foundation are ardently continuing to work on preparations for upcoming events and continuations of the campaign. The next planned event is joint socialization for younger and older siblings in the program, but also for everyone else interested to be part of the unique story „Older brother, older sister“.
